Amanda on Grounding Roots and Their Story

Grounding Roots
The most warming inspirational stories sometimes unexpectedly come from those closest to us. This one hits the feels! One of those stories comes from our awesome and long loving client, Grounding Roots, a juice bar in Orlando. Not just a juice bar in our eyes but a juice lovers haven, with unique tasty juice recipes accompanied with a family approach to each juicee that enters. Trust us when we say, you will feel rejuvenated not just with fruit and veggies but the inspiration and knowledge these guys share. Their story comes from one of the founders Amanda who let us in on their journey to where they are today.

_____A Q&A with Amanda_____

Q

OW: How did you decide to start Grounding Roots? Why did you decide to do it?

A

Amanda: We started the business after a work trip to Los Angeles. LA has an abundance of healthy food and juice options. It was eye opening that Orlando was lacking in these options. We were attracted to having these options as I (Amanda) was battling with an unknown illness at the time. Since opening the juice bar, I was diagnosed with Lyme disease (contracted it at 15 years old). I have been able to maintain a drug free lifestyle by eating an organic diet.

Q

OW: We have heard that your juice bar is helping the Florida community to stay healthy and health-aware in a special way. In what way?

A

Amanda: Because we have lived out the process of finding what is right for our own bodies by being our own health advocates, we are in a place to help guide others struggling with illness to find their way back to health as well.

Q

OW: What health awareness issues do you think our communities are not aware enough of? Is there fields to educate them more about?

A

Amanda: We believe that our communities in America are not aware of the impurities that are in our food and drinks. For our bodies to heal, we need to feed it “real” fuel.

Q

OW: What are your inspirations in business?

A

Amanda: Our daughter, Lilia, was diagnosed with Lyme Disease (that was contracted in utero) in August 2016. It’s our mission to keep our entire family healthy, along with our community.

Q

OW: How is it to work as a couple?

A

Amanda: It’s been a journey working together. Jedidiah is the master mind of the business. I came up with the concept and he made it a reality. He has created all the recipes, based on needs of his family, his workout and for individual customers who have come to us. His passion to keep his family healthy is awe inspiring. I handle the marketing and he handles product development. Thankfully we have amazing partners who help us in other areas.

Q

OW: This is very inspiring to have couple led businesses succeed. Can you give other women out there any advise in running a business?

A

Amanda: Don’t over commit yourself. Know why you are doing what you are doing. And remind yourself often that you are only one person.

Q

OW: What surprised you the most running Grounding Roots?

A

Amanda: How many people we have touched over the years. It’s amazing to be retaught daily that we are capable of healing our own bodies naturally.
